Air Force Veteran Darin Selnick for City Council.

I Believe in Oceanside

I am running to serve my fellow residents and make a positive contribution to the future of my city by bringing my private sector business experience, government, and community involvement to move the city forward and solve current and future challenges. Oceanside is a great place to live but could be even better. I aim to make Oceanside the finest city in San Diego County. The mission of the City Council is to ensure that Oceanside is a desirable place to live, work, do business, and visit. However, the city is at a crossroads in its future direction and there is much work to do with regards to challenges in homelessness, public safety, roads, parks and recreation, housing, and attracting and supporting a diversity of businesses.

Darin Selnick is an Air Force veteran who will serve the needs of his district and the city of Oceanside well. He brings a successful track record of public and community service, and expertise in business. Darin has been very involved in helping the homeless and veterans for over 25 years and volunteers for several homeless and veteran nonprofits. With his commitment and integrity, he will be a true advocate and fighter for District 1. As a former Oceanside City Council member for 20 years, I know what it takes to do a good job on the city council. Darin Selnick has what it takes, I unequivocally and proudly endorse him for Oceanside City Council District 1.

Fighting for our Values

City government needs to starting work for the people who make up our community. That starts with focusing on the right issues and then applying the right solutions.

We need to collaborate with local and state officials to create a commission dedicated to this crisis.

Public Safety

A crime occurs every 1 hour and 20 minutes in Oceanside—we need fast action to make a change.

Parks & Recreation

Great parks make great communities. I will fight to make sure our district gets its fair share of parks.
